10 Things to Know about the Porsche 911 Turbo (991)

The Porsche 911 Turbo (2012 – present) is currently known internally as the ‘991’. As the fastest non-GT 911 (GT is the motorsport brand of Porsche and produces the race-bred GT3) here are some cool facts to know about the Porsche 991.

  1. The turbo is the fastest 0-60 Porsche 911
  2. It has a air filled front spoiler that comes out by pressing a button.
  3. Top speed is 196.
  4. The Turbo has a wider body then the all-wheel drive models (C4 and C4S). In the past they shared the same body width as the all-wheel drive cars. This makes the Turbo the widest 911 you can buy.

  6. The Porsche 911 Turbo entire body is made of lightweight aluminum – to be lighter then the previous 997 model.

  8. The Turbo S has 40 more hp then the standard Turbo
  9. The Turbo now uses less fuel then the previous generation by 15%. Faster and more fuel efficent – not a bad combo.
  10. The current Turbo can now fly around the Nürburgring in under 7:30, meaning it could match the Carrera GT.
